August 2, 2012 - Day 7 - It is a long way down..

Well I weighed myself this morning after I told me not to.  I weigh 274 lbs, so I have lost 6 lbs in a week on this diet.  I feel pretty good and my energy level is really high so I seem to be on the right track.  Now the diet coke battle that is something else altogether.  I would almost give up hubby first, at least that is the way it is feeling right now.   I am down to one a day though so the battle has begun.  I think it is more the caffeine than anything that I am trying to withdraw from.  I can only imagine what a crack addict goes through.  I am drinking lots of water and I brought some unsweetened Kool-aid and I am using Tiva to sweeten it.

My heels are feeling better and I am going to try the treadmill out this weekend.  Tonight I have to run to Walle World and get some stuff for a baby shower I am having for a friend this weekend.  So supper will be take out and I am looking through my book to see what I can have.  It looks like it is going to be Taco Bell.  I can have several things on their menu that I really like.  I will give this diet one thing, I am not craving sweets as bad as I use to.  I am craving the hell out of watermelon though, and we all know how much I like watermelon.

I did read some really good posts yesterday and I am off to see what is going on in blogger world today.  Have a great day.

Debbie, sounds like you're doing well. My DIL gave up diet coke for Lent and said the first week or so was brutal. When Lent was over, she didn't go back and doesn't miss it at all. Water satisfies her thirst. I applaud you for setting this goal. All the best.

Congrats on the weight loss and keep up that battle against the soda! I gave it up myself about a month ago. The first two weeks were pretty difficult and I found myself wanting one every time I passed a vending machine or fast food restaurant. But I have to say that now after a month of being free from soda I don't have those little crashes throughout the day that I used to have and in general I'm feeling more alert and awake than ever. This new found energy has me wanting to go to the gym now to use it up!
