Friday Feb. 24, 2012 - One day at a time..

Well I am doing okay so far, but I am only in day two of my starting over again program.  I have gotten some good comments though and I appreciate all the support.  I am trying a new site call Nutrimirror.com that was recommend to me by Debbie over at The Path Traveled.  I think I am going to like it very much, especially if I can get it to work on my phone.

I did really well with my eating yesterday and portion control seems to be the way I am going to go for now.  I have started my walking back and doing other things that I had gotten lazy about.  I have a bad habit of laying back down in the mornings after hubby leaves for a few minutes and it seems to make me lazier.  So this morning I stayed up and cleaned my kitchen.  I seem to have more energy this morning so that is the game plan from now on.  I hope to get my house in some kind of order this weekend and get some shopping done.

Oh yea and besides portion control I am going to try and stay around 1500 calories a day more or less.  I am going to give this at least a couple of months to see if it works and I hope it does.  I dusted off the old treadmill yesterday and got it where I can use it again.   I am going to do a 5k at the end of March so I have a lot of walking to do between now and then.  I figured it would give me something to work toward and maybe if I have a goal I will stick with the walking again.

Lunch today is homemade lasagna at work, but I am going to do portion control and have a lot of salad and a small piece of lasagna.  I learned a trick with my salad dressing to make it go further also.  I take low calorie dressing about 2 tbs and mix red wine vinager with it.  It is good and it goes further on my salad.

Well I will will not get to post this weekend so have a great weekend and stay healthy.

I am so glad to see you back. I know its hard I am going to be posting about that later today! It is not about how many times you get knocked down it is how many times you get back up and as long as the getting up outnumbers the knocking down you are doing good!

Good for you to be back at it!

1500 calories is an excellent level. You can get enough protein to help spare muscle, lots of fruits and veggies. Stay hydrated, and 1500 calories will serve you well for nicely paced fat burn(not too fast for hunger, not to slow to overly frustrate you).

Hope you enjoy your journey this time and learn lots and get to your desired place. :D

Hi Debbie,

I just found this blog, and I am now following you. Hang in there. I like your 1500 plan, and also portion control can work if we make sure we're working it. Have a great weekend!

Hi Debbie,

Welcome back. I've started over again and realized blogging really helps. It keeps the message out in front of me of what I really want. Have you switched your WW days over to something else or trying both? Thanks so much for your idea on the salad dressing, never would have thought of that.
