Thursday June 23, 2011 - Scales were mean to me...

Yes the scales were not nice to me yesterday and I am up 1.2 lbs.   It really hurt my feelings and I have no one to blame but myself.  I went back over my food journals and my WW instructor says I may be eating to much watermelon.  Hellooooo  it is zero points I thought you could have as much of it as you want if it is zero points.  Well I guess you can get to much of anything, cause she says it will make you retain a lot of water so there you go.  I am going to change over to cantaloupes for this week some and see how that goes. 

Lunch today was a turkey sandwich with a fresh tomato on it with some of the new WW BBQ pop chips for 2 points.  They are great and taste like a light potato chip.  So I had a 7 point lunch and it was very good and healthy.  Tomorrow will be a battle because we are having a fish fry at work and it is going to be so good.  The fish are fresh and have never been frozen so OMG... 

I am coming up on my birthday pretty fast and I am not ready to turn 52 years old.  It seems like yesterday that I was 22 years old.  Time is going by faster these days and it seems that the weeks just fly by.  Before I know it will be time to go back to deer camp on the weekends again.  I love going to deer camp most of the time and I really like being able to post on the weekends.  As you can see I am rambling on about a lot of nothing.  Have a great day.

Be careful with fruit in general..just because it is 0 points doesn't mean you can eat as much of it as you want and have it no have an effect on you. All fruit still has calories and natural sugars that eventually will add up. Like everything on WW, you must take in moderation! Also try only eating fruit during the day..I have read that eating it at night stores the sugars for fat and we don't want that!!

I'm sure you will get that 1.2lbs right back off!

I agree with Kristle, I think the 0 point fruit is a great idea but only for single servings - too much of even a good thing can be bad for you!

I'm so jealous of your fresh fish! I never had frozen fish until I moved to Chicago - I grew up on the East Coast and my dad would go out on a boat with his buddies and catch huge striped bass. Unbelievably fresh tasting, so good!!!

Debbie, do you weigh yourself at home? I don't know if this is correct, but I am reading through your posts that you only weigh at WW. I know their scales are the only ones that count, but years ago when I went to WW, I weighed immediately before I walked out the door to go to the meeting, then immediately when I got back home, just to see how far off my scales were. Then it gave me a better idea of whether I had gained or lost for the week. In other words, I had a little time to correct the damage before the night of weigh-in at WW.

I have a friend who is affected by the fluid retention of watermelon. If she eats it in the afternoon, she pees all night.

Debbie, I just had 5 oz of watermelon. I love it! DONT beat yourself up on it, I think the scales could be wrong at WWW. Have a great evening!

Tell the scale I am going to meet it out by the flag pole and beat it up for being mean to you! But seriously, while there are many things I like about WW, there are somethings that I don't (like saying you can eat as much ZERO point stuff as you want... but then...you really can't). Anyway, I am sure with your plans of changing things up you'll see a great number next week. Good luck!
