Friday June 24, 2011 - So ready for a couple of days off.

OMG I am so glad that it is finally Friday and I get a couple of days off.  Well I put my ad in the paper for a walking partner and we will see if I get any takers.   The lady that took my ad was interested in walking so I hope I get a couple of more.   I am headed to Walmart today to get me a stop watch so that I can start timing my walks so I can see how long it takes me to walk 3.1 miles which we all know is a 5k.  I hope to do another 5k in August or the end of July.  Tonight the swimming is on since all the rain has stopped and I am looking forward to it.

We had a fish fry at work today and I did really good by only eating a couple of pieces and it was great.  I had a nice green salad to go with my fish instead of fries so I did pretty good.  I have cut back on the watermelon the last couple of days and I am sticking to 1 cup a day of it.

I have been reading a lot of good posts lately, and really getting some motivation from them.  I think it really helps to have people read and comment on your blog and give you support.  I know it has help me a lot and seeing the pictures of how well some of you has done gives me motivation to try harder.

Have a great weekend..

Debbie,
Enjoy the weekend! I find that at just walking a good pace but not over doing it. It takes 1 hr to walk 4 miles. I use a program on my iphone that talks as I go telling me time, pace, miles, ect.

Debbie,
Enjoy your time off. We all need a break from our busy schedule. Walmart has a number of good running watches that will serve you well with measuring the time to walk 3.1 miles. I am glad to read that you are keeping up with your swimming as well.

One of the best self-motivational tips I have read was related to reading success stories of others that are losing weight and what they are doing to lose their weight. These stories are full of ideas for losing weight and how they stayed with their program.

Good luck with your walking program.
