Healthy Habits

I am trying to get my husband to start eating healthier with me.  I fixed him chicken last night and I did it with out deep frying it.  I brought some boneless chicken wings, because he likes dark meat only.  I put a tablespoon of peanut oil in an iron skillet and  then I put a little Worcestershire sauce on it and ms. dash.  I browned it on both sides then put a lid on it and let it cook for 30 min.  I fixed some stir fried veggies to go with it.  He surprised me and ate it.    We are eating more salads  and trying to eat more fresh fruits.

I am so proud of me, I did 35 min worth of wii exercise last night and it clapped for me.   I walked yesterday at lunch for 1 mile and I am hoping to get to walk today.    Exercise has been hard for me, but I am taking it day by day.   I have set myself some goals though after reading other blogs that I follow and I hope to be able to stick with them.     As a lot of you know I was trying the Simply Weight loss diet and I did good on it.  I am now off of it for budget reasons.  No money.... Ha.. Ha..    So I am going to have to go it alone and watch my portions and try and keep up with my exercise program.     My blogging is helping me a lot and I really appreciate all of the people who respond to my blogs..  You are giving me the motivation that I need to stay on track.

  • Exercise at least 30 min. a day
  • Walk everyday at lunch
  • 260 lbs by May 15th
  • 5th 5K - May 1st
  • Take better care of my skin
  • Get off blood pressure meds

I only have a short list right now, but I am working on it. Well I am off to read some blogs. Have a nice day everyone.

Sounds like you have some good goals established!

Hopefully you can get your husband to continue to be a support for you. Supportive spouses can be an important asset to have in changing your health for the better.

That's not a short list! There's plenty of good stuff to work on. Good luck!

Those are great goals! I have not been good about setting any specific ones myself and think maybe the time has come. My husband will eat pretty much whatever I put in front of him for a meal... but the rest of they day is still a problem:(

So good to get your family on board with healthy eating. It takes awhile (it did for my family) but it's nice to have the added support. Wow! You're onto your 5th 5K! I'm looking forward to my first one ever in July.

I had to chuckle that your husband only likes dark meat so you buy wings. Wings aren't dark meat. Legs n thighs are dark while wings and breasts are white. :)

Short lists are good ones! Stick to those and you will be where you want to be in no time!

Way to hang in there, even when things are tight. That is when a healthy eating lifestyle is most difficult, isn't it? But, it's doable with some creativity and determination. :D

I am also trying to get Husband to eat better. And to lay off the sugar sodas. Urgh! It is like pulling teeth! But I am not giving up.
