Friday July 1, 2011 - Weekend at Deer Camp..

Well we are at deer camp and I am loving it already.  I love being able to get online when I am at home, so I can relax and just take my time.  It took a while to cool the trailer down when we got here though.  This damn heat has been awful so far this year, and I can not believe that we are already seeing 100 degree weather.

I put my ad in the paper for a walking partner and the ad came out today, but so far I have not had any callers.  If I do not get any calls this weekend I will start my walking by myself Sunday.  I am looking forward to walking again and training for a 5k again.  I really enjoy walking and it is easy to do and the only thing you need is a good pair of shoes.   I have already mapped out my 3.1 mile walk at home so starting Sunday I am going to walk late in the afternoon when it cools off.  I am still swimming just about everyday and that is a lot of fun and good exercise also.

I am going back on the old Weight Watchers program sort of and combination of the old and the new.  I am allowed 31 points, but I am cutting back to 26 points.  What I am trying to do is get some kind of control over my eating and the zero point foods are good in one way and bad in another.  To many zero point foods are not good either.  So I am going to do a combination of the two programs and count my veggies zero points, but count watermelon and most of my fruit as 1 point per serving.   I am going to try this for a couple of weeks and see how it works.

Okay I am going to go and read some posts and see what you all have been up to.  Have a great night and a good 4th of July.

Combining the WW programs sounds like it'll work great - I think the zero point foods are good in theory but it must be tough in summer when fruit is so good and in season!

Hope you find a walking buddy soon! I swam today and forgot how much I love it - and how great of a workout it is!

I know I can overdo it with fruit, but I am getting better with sticking with program now. Wishes for a great weekend!

Sounds like a good plan, Debbie. I know that having a lot of free fruits everyday would not work for me. But then I have insulin issues and fruits have a lot of natural sugars. They would make me crave more fruits and sweets. I hope the plan goes well. Have fun at deer camp
