Sunday 08-29-10 - Rain, Rain, Rain

As you can see from my title it is raining here and has been all day so far.  The best thing is it is only 73 degrees and it feels wonderful after all the high 90's we have had here lately.  I fixed the camera problem this morning, I got up and drove 30 miles to Walmart to get a battery.  I ended up having to go to Walgreens to get it and pay $12.00 for a battery.  I like to have stroked out when I saw the price of the battery, it is almost cheaper to buy a camera.

I have been trying to work some exercise in my cleaning routine this morning.  I have been bending over more and holding it for a few seconds.  Trying to stretch as much as possible and just moving more.  We do not come a lot in the summer so I have to wash and dry everything in the trailer and get it ready for the season so there is a lot of work to do.  I wipe down all the walls and mop everything and dust so it smells really nice in here.  I feel like I just spent an hour at the gym working out    House cleaning is hard work and will work muscles you forgot you had.

Okay back on the bike thing, while I was at Walmart I found a bike I like.  It is a pink cruiser and has a big old padded set and is just one speed.  I am not ready for one with all the gears and everything, nor do I want one that has that little pointed seat that sticks up your behind.  I want one that will support my big old tush and be comfortable to ride.  I was surprised to see that I can get it for only $75.00 so that is what I am saving for.  I should have enough or have it worked into the budget in the next couple of weeks.

I have to start getting everything ready to go home so have a great weekend.  Here is Friday and Saturday's food journal.   Oh yes I have added a new picture to my puppy page check it out.

Biking is great, I think. Lots to look at and fresh air, especially since the weather is getting better. I think you can even get a bike seat for a dog to ride along! I try to get outside for exercise, but it is so hot here, that I often just ride the elliptical in front of the TV (also lots to look at). Best wishes on your journey!

You will have to provide a review on how you like the bike after you get it...I'm looking to buy one too :)

my first bike was more of a cruiser mtn bike and then I got my midlife crisis road bike for my triathlons... I think if the seat cost enough those little bitty ones arent all that bad... but i usually ride my cruiser for a more pleasure focused bike ride rather than speed all the time. have fun on your bike when you get one...it made me feel like a kid to be on one again.

I've been thinking about bikes a lot lately . . . but probably will hold off until spring. We just traded daughter's 20 inch in for a 24 inch used Schwinn that is quite a nice ride, though.

I think it is great that you have a new bike. Biking is my main exercise right now. It is amazing how much stamina you can get in a few weeks. Enjoy it! Michele of

I love cycling as well. It seems less intimidating than other more strenuous activities, yet it is quite a workout.

Two bits of advice:
1. The gears on any bike do take some getting used to, but they can sure be helpful on slight hills, etc.
2. The best bike you can get...is one that you will ride. You might find a better quality used bike on Craigslist, but if it isn't fun for you, then you might not ride it. The new pink bike sounds fun!

I hope you enjoy it!
