Saturday 08-28-10 - Internet service

Yahooooo  I now have Internet service at deer camp.  It only took all day to get it to work, but I did it.  I was on the phone with At&t and the people I got the modem from all day.  I am so excited to be able to post on my blog on the weekend and see what everyone is doing.  Overall I have had a busy and productive day.  I got up this morning and went to Walmart and Home Depot to get some new blinds for the trailer and several other things that I needed.   I have been busy cleaning all day and we are cooking out tonight.  I am cooking two nice pork loins on the grill, and we are having salad and potato's.  I am going to cook the potato recipe that I posted a couple of days ago, so I will let everyone know how it turns out.

I am thinking about getting me a new bike to have down here to ride on the weekends to get me out of the house this winter when the weather is good.  Should I get just a plain bike or at least a 3 speed.  I found a regular bike at Walmart for under a $100.00 and I could afford that much right now.  I would love to just be able to ride around and enjoy the country roads.  They are pretty flat and not to many hills to climb so it would be a pretty easy ride.  All you bike riders out there let me know your thoughts and what you are riding.    I do miss my treadmill when we are down here and I walked yesterday afternoon down the road and back for about an hour.  The bad thing about walking her now is the snakes are out in full force, and I never met a snake that I would care to get close to.

My eating has been great this weekend and last night was really a challenge let me tell you.  Linda one of my friends cooked down here last night and she made a Mexican casserole and it was mostly pasta.   Luckily she had a big green salad cooked so I got mostly salad and 1 cup of the casserole.  I brought my own low cal dressing so I knew how much I could have.  I usually thin is some with water though so it will go further and I like it kind of thin anyway.   I did not touch the corn bread muffins she had made with butter on top of them, and I love corn bread.  This has to become a way of life to me or my weight is going to take my life away from me.  I am walking better, breathing better and sleeping better already.  I can hardly wait to see how I am going to feel in a couple of months if I keep losing at this pace.

Well I have to finish cleaning and get ready for everyone to come over and cook out tonight.  I can not post my journal till Monday though my camera is not working.  I hope it is just the battery and not anything serious.  Okay I am off to read some posts..  Have a good weekend.

TinaM, I got the cheap Huffy Cruiser from WM a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I didn't want to spend much, as I didn't know if I would like riding the bike. It's not something I want to do every day, but it's nice for a change. I think you would love it on the weekends when you're away from the treadmill. And it exercises different muscles. A little more on the arms and a lot more on the thighs! In other words, get the bike.

Being able to resist the stuff you love is like the Holy Grail of self-control.

Well done :)
