Thursday @ Mother's

We went to supper at my mother's last night and it was nice.  We do not go as much since my dad died 3 years ago.  She is always on the go, and never at home.    I love my mother very much and my dad was sick for a long time and she gave up everything to take care of him.  She gave him a quality of life his last years that he would not have had.   Last night we were invited not only to eat supper, but to meet *Brian*.   I think she was really nervous about us meeting him and the idea that she is dating someone.  They go dancing every Friday and Saturday night at the local American Legion.   I liked him right off, he was down to earth and had a good job and really seem to like my mom.    I know this is an odd post for a weight loss blog, but I need to talk about it and all my blogger buddies are my listening post.    I told my mother that if he made her happy and she was having a good time go for it.    Hey I hope I have that much energy at 67 that she has.  Way to go Mom........

Okay thanks everyone for listening and now on to how I did on my eating yesterday.  I did okay and stayed within my point range.  I did give in to an ice cream cone at a meeting we went to.  They had an ice cream bar setup for everyone and it was great.  I did chose sugar free though and a regular cone which has like 1 point.

Here is yesterday's food diary and I am off to read posts.

Everyone have a great weekend...

I growled with affection and concern. No Ice Cream please. Meat loaf with Turkey is half the points and half the price. lo fat yogurt is a staple...

I'm so glad that you and your mom have the kind of relationship that your both open minded about your mom going on dates :)
You are doing great!! And you were well within your point range.

I'm glad your mom is finding happiness after all she's been through. I wish somebody could convince my mom that it's possible.

Now let's go exercise!

You know, I kinda got teary eyed reading that. My dad is a widower (we lost mom in 1994) and he always picks these heinous women to date who have no joy in their lives. I'd love to be able to say my dad has met someone that goes dancing with him and is good for him.

So kudos to you and your mom. I'm glad that despite all you've been through, that you can honor your father by being happy.

Good for your mum that she has found someone to enjoy her life with and good for you for accepting her choices and supporting her in them.

Food journaling is such a great idea. I need to keep one myself.

Have a good weekend.

Seems like another good day on your points; you had the treat and it fit into plan; no? Sounds like you have the right attitude about your moms dating. Odd whenparents date, but they are just older kids inside.

Don't worry about posting things that seem "off topic". I read blogs because I appreciate the personal touch. Let's face it, between "eat healthy" and "exercise more", that is pretty much the weight loss blogosphere covered.

I enjoy reading your blog :)
