Day 1 Weight Watchers

Okay, now I remember why I liked going to Weight Watchers.  I really enjoyed the meeting and keeping up with my points was easy.  Oh yea and I can pretty much each what I want as long as I stay within my points.   I do have to get off of the diet cokes again.  (someone shoot me please)  I was raised on diet coke and sweet tea.  I am going to drink water for lunch today with some lemon in it to see if that helps.   Here is my food diary from yesterday and I did okay for my first day.  I need to go to the grocery store to stock up on low point items so I had to just make do with what I had.   Also last night was the night we go to the nursing home to see my hubby's grandmother and eat out.  We live in a very small town and there are only about 3 or 4 places to eat.  Two of them I would not go in with a face mask and pepto...  Yuck...   So that leaves the KFC and Sudies Fish and Steak house which is where we usually go, last night however we were in a hurry and ran thru KFC.   I should not have eaten that chicken, we do not eat a lot of fried food and this did not agree with me later.   Good think I keep Weight Watcher magazines in the bathroom.. Ha Ha...

As you can see I did not do to bad.  I am going to have to come up with low point foods for lunch and supper though.  Breakfast is easy I pretty much eat the same thing every day.   I may start changing up for an egg sandwich or get up earlier and make me an omelet with 1 egg and egg whites.  I have to get back in the groove of being on WW again.  Does anyone have any ideas for me on breakfast?  It has to be something that I can take with me and eat driving.  I have about a 45 min drive to work everyday so I eat on my way to work.  Also any suggestions on low point bread and anything else would be appreciated.

Have a nice day and I am off to read some posts..

Not sure about the financials, but WW frozen breakfast stuff tastes good, and the points are easy to follow,,

Diet Coke is addictive for me, too. Hang in there.

I like to take two egg whites and cook them for two 30-second intervals in the microwave in a non-stick sprayed mug and plop it between a WW english muffin with a slice of fat free Kraft cheese and two slices of turkey bacon.

Depending on the turkey bacon you use, it's three points for the sandwich and it's delicious. I'll usually eat it with some fruit as well.

For lunch, I like wraps made on Flatout flatbreads (1 point each) stuffed with low-fat turkey, hummus and tons of veggies as well as some yogurt, a granola bar and some fruit.

I own a ton of WW cookbooks and I generally make my dinners from those or the Biggest Loser cookbooks (which are surprisingly awesome).

I buy the Weight Watcher bread, which my bf calls "Wonder Woman" bread LOL 1 point for 2 slices.. can't beat that!

I also do the 1/2 cup of egg whites in the microwave in a square ceramic dish I bought at the dollar store.. fits the bread perfectly. I add lf ham or turkey and low fat cheese. Great travelling breakfast sandwich.

WW also makes tortilla shells so sometimes I make a quick breakfast burrito with the same egg trick, cheese and turkey bacon.. very nummy and portable.

Great job on your day one of WW - it sounds like you are off to a great start!

Well I see you left 4 points on the table, so that seems good if not great. I am not too knowledgeable on WW honestly. I have to ask though, Cracker Jacks; how big of a serving is 2 points worth? My guess is CJ is not a healthy food choice and thus a small handful at best would make up 2 pts., no? Just curious. Keep on gett'n it done Debbie!

Hi Debbie..
I'm doing WW too. Love the blog! Have you tried Sandwich Thins or Bagel Thins as a low point bread alternative? I get both at Costco. They're one point and make great sandwich bread or burger buns. I even use then as hot dog buns for Hebrew National 97% fat free hot dogs. Good stuff!

That's great that it works so well for you. I myself can't do the points and keep score or it feels too much like something I could lose - then I'm overmotivated to WIN and things just aren't maintainable.

You rock!

I have to admit that I do have a weakness for KFC. I miss it so much :(

The sooner you kick the diet coke the better. It may not be packed with sugar, but the acid in all carbonated drinks still corrodes your teeth!
