Day 1 - New Year, New beginning..

I am starting this year off with counting my days on my blog instead of using the date.  I have decided to see if I can lose 20 lbs by April 1st.  This is my next goal to meet for myself and I am hoping to make it.  I have started a great walking program today and I am walking 15 min everyday starting this week, and next week I will go to 30 min a day.  I have a 5k coming up in March and I want to be ready for it and beat my time from last year.  It took me 1 hour and 10 min last year to walk the 3.1 miles in the Legal Beagle 5K.    So starting today I am in training for the Legal Beagle again.  Oh yes and I have to call my friend Lori to see if she will walk with me.  So how about it Lori will you walk with me cause I know you are going to read this post so let me know.  It is on me and I will send in our registration fee in time to get our T-shirt for this year.  I say lets do that one and the St. Paddy's again this year.   Let me know...

Well this is our last night at deer camp we go home in the morning and I am so glad.  I have not been home in a week.  I have to stop by the grocery store and stock up on fruits for next weeks lunch so I can stay within my points.  I am so excited about this new year and my weight loss program.  I am going to push for 2 lbs a week or more so keep tuned to see how I do.   I was a turtle last year only losing 53 lbs in 8 months so I hope to do better this year.  I would love to see my BMI drop below 40 this year and take me out of the morbid obese section.  I will still be obese, but at least it will not be morbid.

I hope every one is having a great New years so far and have started off healthy for 2011.  I am going to go read some posts so here is today's food journal and I will be posting it again every day.  You will see that I made a bad choice today with eating at Sonic, but this was my New Years gift to my self was a hot dog and a small order of french fries.  I have not had either in over 8 months and I was ready for one to get it out of my system.  It was great and I enjoyed it and I can live without it for another 8 months.    My main thing is to be honest in my journals and post them on a regular basis.

Have a great night.

Take pride in being a turle in 2010... if you end 2011 as a turtle again ending with a few dozen less pounds on you will you be happy still? I am guess you would; I would! Get more aggressive if you want, start fresh on the counter; just keep on getting healthier no matter what approach you choose... Happy New Year!

As usual, Patrick's right!

20 lbs in 4 months is totally doable. You are rockin the weight los thing Debbie! You'll do it and have fun at the same time!

It is doable and you will do it. I like what Patrick says - Turtle Pride! Slow and steady wins the race. I see you have the 3 month tracker. I think it's great that you post a picture of your food choices. Excellent idea. Hmmm, I may copy that rather than typing it on my Blog. Do you have a points calculator too? I'm loving this new program.

Yay for New Years goals. You CAN reach your goal by April! Great job on walking every day. You go girl! I'm sure you will beat your 5k walking time with efforts like that! I can't wait to do my first 5k run... and honestly, I haven't even RUN yet (since middle school)... even since getting this weight off, I haven't run yet and here I want to become a runner. Bring it on in 2011!! :)

God bless!

I try my best to walk a lot each day too. At first it was pretty difficult to walk long distances but day by day it got easier and easier and in the end you start to push yourself to walk more and it becomes fun.

Good luck with the walking!

I was shocked when I read that you said you were a turtle because I belong to TOPS and we say when we don't lose (stay the same weight) ... that's a turtle and I knew you were doing so well. When I see someone that has lost as much as you in a year, I know they are no slouch. You are doing well and you have the commitment to continue. I know you'll reach you're goal for the spring.

53 lbs lost is GREAT, no matter how long it took. And I agree that honesty is important in the weight loss game.

I believe you can lose the 20 lb by April 1st. I will be cheering for you!

Great goals for the new year. Good luck with the workout goals. I am going to aim for five times a week with some toning. As those two babies I had "slightly" changed my shape to a wee bit lumpy and bumpy in the not so good spots!
