Thursday 09-09-10 - One more pound gone

Another lb gone bye bye, and thank goodness.  I can live with one lb a week, as long as I am losing.  Great day on my eating yesterday, and I was full when the day was over.   I am going to make a couple of new crock pot dishes this weekend that are Weight Watchers and I will let everyone know what they are and how they turned out.   I am still getting watermelons right now, but they can not last much longer.  I did catch them on sale yesterday for less than $3.00 ea.

I very seldom eat out for lunch anymore, because I seem to be able to control my points more when I fix my lunch.  We will go out tonight though and I am hoping for Mexican or Chinese.  It will all depend on hubby and what he wants to pay for.  He has only worked about 20 hours this week so it is starting to get tight.  I am so thankful that we have a little money saved, but it will not take long to go through it at this rate.   I hope things start to pickup soon and the construction takes off again.    Hubby being at home is taking a toll on my food budget also.  I stock up on things that I can have and he seems to like them better than his snacks.  Take for instance my WW fudge bars you only get six to a box and I usually buy two boxes to last me a couple of weeks.  Well he loves these and eats them two at a time.  Now I do not mind if I have plenty, but last night I was down to my last two and he ate one and went back for the last one.  I made him put it back, and get a yogurt or a slice of the cheese cake he made me buy.  I can not have the cheese cake in any form, because I am just guessing but I figure somewhere around 10 points  a slice.

We are headed to Atlanta on the 17th to see our new grand baby girl.  I am so excited, but I am also worried about my point intake.  I called the kids and they are already talking about lets just order pizza or takeout.  We are only going to be there 2 nights so I am thinking about packing some food for me.  I thought maybe my snacks and maybe some egg salad or something that I make and I can have.  What does everyone else do when you travel?  Do you pack your food, eat out or what?  I am curious...

Here is yesterday's food journal and I am sorry that I have not posted on any one's blog this week.  It has been crazy at work and I promise that I will catch up this weekend and see what everyone is saying.  Have a nice day.

I'm sure you'll do just fine when you go visit. I've done it both ways. I've brought the kind of cereal I like for breakfast and 1 and 2 points things to snack on. During our last visit to see the grandkids over Labor Day, I just watched my portions. We ate most of our meals out and as long as I knew where we were going ahead of time to look up point values, I was okay. The real test is when we go to Tunica in about 10 days and all the buffets ... but I can do that too.

good week!!! one pound a week is 52 a year and that is a great loss!!! I have become a little fanatical about my food, it is so not worth losing a week of eating WW to blow it on some event. I take my food to meetings, take my food to work. I have become the Queen of the brown bag!!!

Great job on the weight loss. I love every ounce that I lose!!!

I used to shop for our office. I would buy corn dogs, chips, cookies etc. and then I would buy healthy snacks that I like. Every time I would go get a healthy snack my stuff would be gone and the junk would be the last to go. FINALLY I got smart and started buying all healthy stuff. Now we are all happy!!!

Yes I take food with me on trips where food preparation is out of my control. Helps me stay on track!!!

Hugs!

Congrats on the loss, one pound is great! You sound very committed so I am sure you will do great on your trip. Best wishes that things turn around soon in the construction business.
